Re: Thinking of things I can DIY for wedding + reception

A) Awesome for being so eager to be creative but

B) Don’t overwhelm yourself with too many DIY crafts! - Wedding planning is very stressful, and the more you have to DIY, the more you’ll have to stress about! BUT..

C) Recruit friends & family early on to help as much as possible - I found a lot of my friends are more than willing to help me out, all I had to do was ask :) If you do decide to take on loads of DIY things, having lots of help will be a blessing! :)

D) Something to keep in mind…DIY doesn’t always mean cheaper! Make sure to source for the cheapest supplies - sometimes using items that were not actually intended for wedding crafts are actually cheaper than the items that are, and they work twice as well!

Also…my favorite site right now, is http://www.offbeatbride.com - even if you’re not very offbeat, the community is super supportive, and full of great ideas.

A Rant, of frustration, to Rogers

The email I just sent to Rogers. I’m sure some of my claims could be wrong or misinformed facts…but I really feel they owe me something after all the b/s I’ve been put through over the last two months.

No, this is not a post of happiness and love and positive vibes…but maybe if we all direct positive thoughts and prayers to them actually doing something right for a change, maybe I’ll actually be happy with my phone service for the first time in a year and a half.

A direct note to the person reading this, in regards to the following rant of unhappyness: I know it is not your fault, personally - you’re just doing your job…..It’s just really irritating me how I’m being treated as just a random number, not a person.


Seriously? 

You really want me to extend my contract after all the hoops you guys have made me jump through over the last 2 months? 
Really?

You guys make me pay for a phone when the old one not working was essentially the fault of Rogers.com (I downloaded the software to upgrade my old phone from the Rogers website, the software crashed in the middle of upgrading the phone, and literally nothing could be done to fix the phone. as the software was downloaded from the Rogers website, provided by Rogers, it is the fault of Rogers that the phone had to be replaced. - it took a full week of dealing with different customer service representatives, going back and forth to the store twice, before the conclusion was reached that the phone needed to be fully replaced.

It was replaced with a blackberry - and NO ONE told me I needed a different plan to make any blackberry features work. Not a single soul. I had to figure it out after talking to tech support - who figured out that your customer service people are idiots, and told me exactly what I needed to know, before sending me back to customer service.
After spending AN HOUR AND A HALF on the phone, being transferred back and forth, being on hold for a good half of my time, I was finally sent on my way being told that a new plan would be applied to my phone once technical difficulties had been fixed - and NO ONE told me I would have to extend my contract at that point.

A week later and nothing had been changed to my account - so I sent an email. I figured fixing this wouldn’t be so hard - and at least I wouldn’t be stuck on hold for hours, while someone figured it out, if I did this via e-mail. I don’t mind that this has taken three days longer than expected - I don’t mind that at all - what I do mind is that I’m still being treated like I mean nothing.

Right now I am a seriously unhappy customer, and you really want me to extend my contract? Or do you want me to rip my spleen out to pay out my contract? I’d rather not do that, I’d probably literally die if I had to rip my spleen out…(This is sarcasm. When I say spleen, I really speak of the stupidly high cost of paying out a contract that has more than 6 months left on it. Stupidly high meaning $500 which is 90% of my paycheck. So basically you keep me leashed to Rogers, continuously forcing me to extend my contract, knowing full well that if I want to escape this horror, I basically can’t eat for two weeks. - So it’s starve for two weeks, or suffer the abuse dolled out by Rogers every month. Obviously I have to suffer the second, because no food = death. Goodness, no spleen, no food - you guys just have it in for me, don’t you.)

Seriously Rogers - is it so much to ask just to make me happy? You DO know that a HAPPY customer, is willing to spend more money - or is that business practice alien to you guys? Oh, there’s one for you! Rogers is run by Aliens! It makes perfect sense when I think about it - why else would a company have such horrible ways of dealing with the people who pay them too much money for something they could get without a contract, and for less, elsewhere.

I really hope something in this gets to someone who either a) actually do something to make me a happy customer, or b)someone who actually cares about my happiness - or preferably option c) someone who can do something that cares - but last I checked, supervisors in call centers don’t care. Unless someone wants to prove me wrong on that point? Maybe there’s an option d) Someone who cares who can bug the people who can do something about it so much that they get irritated enough that they will actually do something, so that I am made happy?
